Nigeria: Kwara Tertiary Educations Needs More Funds

Ilorin — The Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin Chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), at the weekend called on the state government to increase its subventions to tertiary institutions in the state for peace and stability to reign in them.

Addressing the press in the state capital, Ilorin, Chairman of the union, Alhaji Abdul-Mojeed Bello said the non availability of funds in the state's tertiary institutions has led to non - payment of staff allowances and other emoluments. According to him, if the staffers are paid as at when due, the agitations from various unions would not arise.
