Arusha — On Saturday 9th September, staff at Camp Moses, held the firstevent of it's kind for LOHADA - a Parents' Day. With the help of our 10 cell leaders, all the parents/guardians of our children at Camp Moses were invited to spend a day at our Camp and to spend time with their children. We were over the moon when nearly 30 members of the families attended this event.

We had pre-arranged for dala dalas to bring the families to Moshono. We knew they were arriving, as they were all singing their hearts out. It made such a lovely start to what was a grey, rainy day! On their arrival, they were greeted by LOHADA staff and led into our main class room. Once in the classroom, the families were then welcomed by our children, who processed in singing a welcome song that they had been busy preparing for some days. The children then performed a few more songs and a short drama, outlining professions such as a doctor, builder and teacher. Suzy, ourCamp Manager, then explained the nature of the day and ran through the timetable with them. If the families thought they were with us for a rest, then they were wrong! Once their names had been registered, duties were assigned to them, such as helping to clean the children's clothes, helping to prepare lunch and assisting in bathing the children.
