Eritrea: Soil And Water Conservation Activities in Geleb Sub-Zone

Geleb — The inhabitants of 11 administrative areas in Geleb sub-zone are carrying out effective soil and water conservation activities.

So far, they have constructed 86,000 cubic meters of embankments, put in place 47 km.- long terraces and repaired 16 km-long road.

The Administrator of Merat administrative area, Mr. Ibrahim Tedros, said that the undertaking is part of the efforts being made to attain food security.

Meanwhile, the local inhabitants have repaired 5 wells and weeded land plots of over 900 families of fallen heroes.
