Ezana Ethiopia Mahiber, a local NGO, officially launched on Thursday Tiruzer Ethiopia and Image Building Ethiopia II projects which aims at working with prospective college and university graduates and the vulnerable youth.

In partnership with Action Aid Ethiopia and the UN AIDS, the pilot project sets out to provide a series of personal development trainings and professional teachings to the targeted group of the society in order to produce responsible young professionals in the future.

At the launching workshop, Ato Taddel Seifu, manager of the projects, said that Tiruzer Ethiopia project focused particularly on prospective graduates because they are in the prime of their educational life. So they need to be equipped with all-rounded intellectual abilities following the so-called Head, Heart, Hand approach. Taddele noted that the training is designed to develop the innovative abilities [Heart], the voluntary activities [Heart] and enhance practical knowledge [Hand] of the targeted group while the Image Building project put the vulnerable youth like taxi and public service attendants in prospective. He noted that there are about 17,000 taxi assistants and taxi service attendants at the moment and it is of a significant importance to build the capacity of these parts of the youth following such a holistic approach.

Taddele said that Image building Ethiopia I, a project which works with parking lot attendants, is in progress and at moment consultative meetings with the parking space owner is being conducted and as soon as it is completed implantation of the capacity building training would follow through.

It was also learnt that the project is financed by the joint findings of Action Aid Ethiopia and the UNAIDS with the sum of 500,000 birr in addition to the contribution by the Ezana Mahiber itself.
