Uganda: Govt Urged to Support E-Learning in Schools

Kampala — A consultant appraising the New Partnership for African Development (NEPAD) E-Learning initiative has urged the Government to support local E-Learning materials development.

The NEPAD E-Learning, also known as the E-Schools initiative, aims at achieving a 50% internet accessibility for all people in Africa by 2015. It has partnered with seven multinational companies and several other local entities to install a US$20m Information and Communication Technology system in about 100 schools in 16 African countries.
