WAS Ngige not denied police protection even as a serving governor while his unruly adversary, a self-acclaimed godfather, was moving about with lorry-load of policemen?

Is the Police not being used to rig elections all over the country? What of the rather strange drama, which the Police have been staging in favour of the PDP? In October 2005, the AD candidate for the bye-election in Ilase, Osun State, was arrested overnight and was not released until the election was over. The same thing happened in April 2006 during a bye-election into a Federal House of Representatives seat in Ekiti State. The AD candidate was arrested and detained overnight for "wandering." A governorship candidate of the party, a former Military Administrator of Bayelsa State, Navy Captain Olubolade (rtd) was asked to lie down by the Police and was thoroughly beaten until he was hospitalized. So much for the idea of a single Police force under the Federal Government!
