Botswana: Bonela Press Forward With Quest for Aids Law

Botswana Network of Ethics Law and HIV/AIDS (BONELA) in collaboration with other civil organisations have amassed more than 5,000 signatures to push for the speedy enactment of laws that protect people living with HIV/AIDS at the work place.

Speaking at a rally in Gaborone over the weekend, the director of BONELA, Christine Stegling indicated that they plan to collect 10,000 signatures by the end of November when they hand over the petition to Parliament. "I appeal to various organisations and individuals to sign the petition so that we reach the targeted number," she said. She added that they have received responses from outside the country.
