Kampala — Holidays are here. Within a few days, children will be all over the place trying to make sense of their surroundings.

When life becomes a routine, children get bored and destructive. To prevent this, you need to keep them occupied with housework and toys.

Doreen Busingye, a nursery school teacher says, "Toys engage children and stimulate their brain. They prepare the children for their adult responsibilities."

Everyone has seen children acting the roles of their parents.

Damanico on Kampala Road has a variety of toys for you children. Girls could do with dolls, teddy bears, a mock set of saucepans or a sham mobile phone. They cost between sh29,000 and sh69,000. Boys above three years, could have ride-on cars.

A child can actually sit inside this car and peddle along. And it can easily be manoeuvred forward and backward. It costs sh180,000 at Quality Supermarket, Old Kampala.

You can also buy chess or draught sets made of soapstone at sh25,000 from Exposure Africa on Buganda Road.
