Tanzania: Cables Stolen in Arusha Could Be Destined for China

Arusha — Cables stolen from installations of both the Tanzania Telecommunications Company Limited (TTCL) and the Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) could be destined for China for the manufacture of ornaments and electronic equipment.

Investigations by this newspaper have discovered that this year alone over Tsh 14 million worth of cables belonging to the two parastatal organizations had been stolen between January and October.
