NIGERIA set new benchmarks at the 5th African Women Championship when she supplied four venues for the fifth edition of the competition that ended November 11. The matches were played in Warri, Oghara, Oleh and Ughelli in Delta State. The major mark though was the Falcons' fifth consecutive victory in the event.
Women's football is gaining grounds in other African countries. The evidence is the performance of some of the other countries which are closing the gap between them and Nigeria.
