Nigeria: Buhari Denies Defection Rumour

Lagos — Former military Head of State and All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), presidential candidate in the 2003 elections, General Muhammadu Buhari {rtd} yesterday debunked rumour that he was defecting to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead the next general elections.

Making this clarification while speaking with newsmen in Ilorin, Kwara state, Gen. Buhari, who had earlier paid a condolence visit to Governor Bukola Saraki over the death of immediate past governor of the state, Alhaji Mohammed Lawal, also insisted that the federal government must conduct an election next year as stipulated by the constitution.
