Uganda: Farmers to Get Credit

Kampala — Danida agricultural sector programme support (ASPS) has launched a loan guarantee scheme and a micro-leasing fund to help farmers and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) access funding.

"It will provide appropriate loan guarantees to enable agribusiness SMEs obtain financing from banks. It will act as an incentive to banks to lend to agri-based SMEs with insufficient collateral," said Richard Wangwe, the ASPS finance specialist.
