Nairobi — For poor Uhuru Kenyatta, sympathies are in order. Quite apart from the business of seeing his party seized by the Total Man, the pain in his face clearly tells you that he never imagined his erstwhile mentor, Mr Daniel arap Moi, together with his successor would watch over, if not execute, the calamity that has befallen the Gatundu South MP.
Now that his real education in politics has begun, Mr Kenyatta should start by ridding himself forever of this notion that the career he has chosen has much use for sentiment. The mafioso of lore were reputed to use a favourite phrase before shooting dead some pesky fellow: "It's nothing personal. It's just business." In the case of what has been done to Mr Kenyatta, it's all about politics.
