Nigeria: Imo Speaker Cautions Inec Chairman Over Utterances

Owerri — The Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Kelechi Nwagwu has advised the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Maurice Iwu to exercise restraint over some of his unguarded utterances, especially as it concerns the activities of the State Assembly.

Nwagwu, who was reacting to a statement credited to Iwu that he would prosecute the Speaker upon the expiration of his tenure over an allegation that he (Speaker) flouted an INEC order not to swear in an Alliance for Democracy (AD) candidate who won the Isu Constituency bye-election.
