Nigeria: Abuja NIPOST Hosts Customers Forum

The Nigerian Postal Service, Abuja, last Thursday organised a customers' forum to get first-hand information from its customers about its services.

The occasion took place at the Comfort Rayale Hotel, Abuja. It was the fifth ever hosted by the service.

In an address of welcome, the FCT area postal manager, Malam Yahaya A. Rufa'i, told the participants that the initiative was to provide a forum for a discussion regarding the services of NIPOST.

He told the customers that NIPOST was committed to the provision of efficient, qualitative and affordable postal services.

Alhaji Rufa'i said the postal service had made several expansions for a viable service. They include, 'post cash, which is an electronic fund transfer system, and the air post service for an instant mail delivery. Both currently operate in Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt. The aim is to meet the various needs of our customers in line with modern business trends', he said.

In a speech, the post master general of the federation, represented by deputy PMG, Chief E. Z. Omordia, said NIPOST was set to provide a 'universal, qualitative postal service that is efficient, effective, reliable and affordable with a committed workforce that guarantees customer satisfaction at all times'.

He said: "Our vision is to be the best customer responsive organisation in the country, the best postal service in Africa and one of the best in the world."

He said to meet these goals; NIPOST has achieved 80% of 24-72 hours' service delivery targets.
