Johannesburg — SA IMPORTED 60,9% more steel in the nine months to September than in the corresponding period last year to meet increasing domestic demand as construction projects get under way.
Steel sales in the first nine months of the year grew 26,9%, to 4,04-million tons, according to figures released by the South African Steel and Iron Institute (Saisi).
