Ethiopia: Nations, Nationalities' Museum to Be Constructed

Addis Ababa — The National Museum of Ethiopia announced that it has launched activities that would enable it construct nations and nationalities museum to preserve the cultures, norms and traditions of nations, nationalities and peoples, and benefit the country's tourism sector.

Museum Manager Mamit Yilma told WIC that since the country has over 80 nations, nationalities and peoples, the museum will enable to attract visitors and fully depict the country's image.

The construction of the museum is expected to begin next year, she stated, adding that it will have immense significance in helping the growth of the culture of nations and nationalities and creating a venue where they learn from the resources and achievements of one another.

Upon going operational, the museum whose construction is initiated by Ethiopian historians and the British Museum, will accommodate the traditional houses, tools, dressings and other materials that represent the day-to-day life of the nations, nationalities and peoples, Mamit said.
