Nairobi — The Italian government has agreed to convert 44 million Euro (Sh3.5 billion) in debt into funding for projects in the social sector.
During a farewell meeting between President Mwai Kibaki and outgoing Italian ambassador to Kenya Mr Enrico de Maio on Tuesday, it was agreed that debt stemming from past soft loans be invested in projects to be mutually agreed upon in education, health and other critical areas.
