Uganda Can Control Fertility Rates

Kampala — Uganda's fertility rate of 6.9 children per woman is one of the highest in the world. The Total fertility rate has remained fairly constant at about seven children per woman over the past years.

In Uganda, fertility is the most important determinant of both the age structure, the size and the rate of population growth. The high Fertility rate will negatively impact on the quality of life of the poor and the disadvantaged people in Uganda.
