Kenya: New Hawker Markets to Cost Sh200m

Nairobi — The Government has unveiled a Sh450 million programme to deal with the hawker crisis in Mombasa ahead of the world cross-country championships to be held in March next year.

"Just like the Muthurwa concept, we want to come up with a hawker's bazaar in Mombasa to decongest the central business district," the Local Government minister, Mr Musikari Kombo, told journalists.
