Nigeria: 10 Killed On New Year Day

Lagos — The new year was welcomed with violence and killings in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as no fewer than 10 lives were lost when people suspected to be cultists at two different locations, shot and killed seven civilians, while two suspected armed robbers and a policeman were also killed.

The armed men who were said to have been dressed in military uniform, attacked a place at Rumuokrusi, where six people were feared dead, though police said the attack were on two communities along University of Port Harcourt road.
