Kenya: Surprises Galore At JD Tournament

Nairobi — It was surprises galore on day two of the Coca-Cola JD Junior Tennis Championships as the boys' under-14 top seed Paul Mwangi became the first big casualty, losing to Omar Tarek in the battle for a quarter-final slot at the JD Academy in Nairobi.

Mombasa-based Mwangi, the defending champion in this age-group, lacked his usual form, starting off poorly in both the service and defensive departments allowing his rival to dictate the pace winning the first set 6-1.
