Nairobi — THE re-emergence of the water hyacinth on Lake Victoria has added to the problems that have dogged the East African water body in the recent past.
The lake is choking under the combined onslaught of algae, siltation and the hyacinth weed, barely six months after it was reported that the world's second largest fresh water lake was receding at an alarming rate.
