Harare — ZIMBABWE international striker Benjani Mwaruwari has revealed that he took a huge gamble to try and help Portsmouth's European ambitions -- at the risk of wrecking both his season and the Warriors' Nations Cup interests -- by playing in recent games despite carrying a serious injury.
The 28-year-old Warriors' skipper bravely put Pompey's charge for a place in Europe's inter-club competitions next season ahead of his own health in a risk that could have prematurely ended his season had the gamble backfired.
