South Africa: Africa On the Agenda for Secretary-General Ban's First International Visit

In line with his commitment to prioritise the African Agenda, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's first overseas visit in his new post, will attend the African Union Summit and visit a number of African countries.

The Secretary General's first international engagements since taking up the position on 1 January will be in Europe and Africa starting next week, his spokesperson Michele Montas said.
