East Africa: EA Court Summons Govt Over Black Mamba Siege

Kampala — The infamous 'Black Mamba' siege of the High court 14 months ago has returned to haunt the government which has now been given until February 12, to respond to a string of accusations filed in the East African Court of Justice.

The black shirted armed men, who subsequently pretended to be policemen, besieged the High Court in an attempt to grab treason suspects who had been granted bail, arousing strong protest from the country's top judges. To date, most of the suspects are still being held illegally by the government.
