Nairobi — Ugandan police last week broke up a demonstration called by the Forum for Democratic Change to protest against the continued detention of 22 men accused of treason.
The men, jointly charged with FDC leader Dr Kiiza Besigye, were granted bail by the High Court in November last year but were re-arrested by the shadowy Black Mamba commandos who raided the court, and have since remained in detention. Besigye is out on bail.
