Kampala — A total of 110 families with people living with HIV/AIDS received humanitarian aid from the Uganda Community-Based Association for Child Welfare.
The families from Busia, Bugiri and Tororo districts received mattresses, blankets, mosquito nets, jerricans and basins to help them in the care of those with HIV.
Twenty volunteers, who assisted in identifying the needy families, also received bicycles and gumboots from the organisation.
Alice Kayongo, the program officer of the association said good hygiene and improved living standards are necessary to prolong the lives of those living with HIV.
"It is hoped that through the small sh12m donation, more families will be able to maintain a lifestyle that promotes health and wholesome living," she said.
