Uganda: Boycott - Business As Usual At Parliament

Kampala — When our honourable colleagues - members of the opposition - walked out of the House on Tuesday January 30, I was taken aback, like other people were. So I went to one of my friends in the opposition and, tongue in cheek, whispered in mock complaint: "You didn't even have the courtesy to tell me you folks were planning a boycott!"

He laughed it off and said, "Maria, you people's (NRM) parliamentary espionage is in shambles. We have been planning this thing for some time and your parliamentary intelligence network never found out!" We laughed it off.
