Liberia: Snowe Strikes a Deal

The embattled House Speaker, Edwin Melvin Snowe, has suggested to his colleagues sitting in Virginia to amicably find a way out of the ongoing dilemma that has engulfed the House of Representatives.

According to a letter written to the members of the House of Representatives sitting in Virginia, outside Monrovia, and under the signature of Mr. A. Dairus Dillion, Sr. Chief of Office Staff for the House Speaker, Mr. Snowe suggested that members of the lower House find another venue in the City of Monrovia, preferably the Capitol Building from where appropriate and necessary legislations would be enacted to amend or repeal Session 3 of Chapter 1 of the Legislature Law which makes the Capital City of Monrovia the only official meeting place of the Legislature or give the township of Virginia a city status to legitimize the conduct of legislative affairs there pending the completion of the renovation of the Capitol Building.
