Nigeria: Police Probes Crises Over Bye-Election

Osogbo — Osun State police command has begun investigation into the violent clash in Iree, during the bye-election into the House of Representatives in Odo-Otin, Ifelodun and Boripe local governments, which led to the death of an ANPP agent, Mr. Taofeeq Abdullahi.

In a chat with newsmen in Osogbo, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Suleman Fakai, said the command had made some arrests and stressed that his men would not hesitate to deal with any person perpetrating an act of lawlessness and indiscipline.
