Lagos — SINCE 2003, Obasanjo has been devoting huge public resources to securing the assassination of Akitu's political future. Nothing was not, or is not being done to achieve this singular objective. Consider the ceaseless raids, the witch-hunts, harassments, blackmail, insults, etc. by minions. His associates were not spared either.

Adenuga and Fasawe are ready examples. With the power of the bully, governors and top government officials were threatened not to associate with him, in anyway. Taking their briefs too far, but perhaps for their own personal reasons, some of the officials created what amounted to an official forum dedicated solely to calling him names, to the full satisfaction of their spiritual and temporal deity.
