Liberia: Media Groups Want Newspaper Ban Lifted

Monrovia — The Press Union of Liberia has condemned the arbitrary closure of The Independent Newspaper by the Ministry of Information for publishing pornographic photo of a sex scandal involving former acting Presidential Affairs Minister, Willis Knuckles.

In a release, the Union says the seizure of the newspaper's offices without court order is a police action and calls on the government to unlock the offices and submit to the rule of law.
