Nairobi — Nothing demonstrates more than the just-released fourth form examination results that there are simply too many layers of education in Kenya. They emerge pretty clearly when you dissect the performance patterns, which have shaped up into a boringly predictable score sheet of haves and have-nots.
This should be something to worry about in a society that claims to value justice and fairness. We have fought tooth and nail for a level playing field in politics. Now we need to apply ourselves as vigorously to equality in education, perhaps even more when you consider the impact of education on what our children will grow up to be.
