Kampala — PROLINE Soccer Academy has formed a partnership with Major League Soccer (MLS) of USA. This was revealed by Mr Peter Fuller, a member of the MLS youth committee.
Fuller, 47, disclosed the development Saturday after a training session he conducted at Proline training ground, Lugogo.
"The partnership will involve exchange of coaches from US to Uganda as well as funding local coaches from Proline to USA for courses," said Fuller.
He holds a Canadian Soccer Association masters in coaching and also revealed that MLS will at a later stage send equipment to Proline because its one of the major necessities needed.
Proline, which sent former Kampala City Council FC assistant coach Robert Kabuye for a course in United States of America, also plans to send Ivan Kakembo for a similar course under the partnership with MLS.
"Kabuye completed his FA Level 1 course and is now pursuing Level 2. Kakembo is expected to set off in April if all goes well," Proline proprietor Mujib Kasule said.
Fuller also hailed Proline's U-17 team and said that they are not any different from the boys in US.
"These boys are technically very good. They have a core understanding of the basics. Kids in the US have the equipment but like watching cartoons. "We just fight with them to play soccer while here the talent and kids love playing but have no equipment, that is the only difference," said Fuller.
The American will return to his country on Wednesday.
