The siege of the High Court by armed men for a second time may have sullied public opinion against the NRM government but it has drawn a muted response from local political players and Uganda's bilateral partners who provide most of the cash for government programs. It has also not yielded concrete information as to why or who was responsible for the exaggerated actions of the security forces.
Despite a judicial strike, similar action by the Uganda Law Society no public pressure has been applied on government to explain in some detail its actions.
