South Africa: Insurance Breakthrough On HIV/Aids Hailed As Major Victory

Cape Town — In what has been hailed as a major victory for South Africans living with HIV/Aids, the life insurance industry will no longer deny death and disability benefit claims in respect of people who die from Aids.

The decision, which will affect thousands of people, binds all members of the Life Offices' Association (LOA), which represents 95% of South African insurance companies.
