It's a sad fact of history that humans all too often fail to live up to their generic name, Homo sapiens - wise man. War, genocide, slavery, economic irresponsibility, gross over-exploitation of Nature the list of our failings is long and dishonourable. And all too often, the consequences of those failings are most keenly felt by the generations that follow.
That is certainly going to be the case as far as human-induced climate change is concerned. As well-informed scientists point out, we will experience the consequences of our past choices for decades to come.
