8am: A group of environmentalists led by Save Mabira Crusade Chairman, Frank Muramuzi move to Parliament to hand a petition to Speaker Edward Ssekandi as demonstrators wait at Uganda Railways Headquarters.
9am: Ssekandi meets the group and receives the petition.
Riot police are deployed at the Kampala -Jinja Road and King George V1 junction connecting to Parliament Avenue to ensure that the demonstrators use the right route assigned to them.
9:30am: Demonstrators start chanting save Mabira songs; "tetwagala Sukari-twagala Mabira (We don't want Sugar, we want Mabira)
10:30am: Demonstrators are joined by politicians James Akena (MP Lira Municipality), Tom Butime (MP for Mwenge North County), Betty Olive Kamya (MP Lubaga North), Ken Lukyamuzi (Former MP for Lubaga South) and Erias Lukwago (MP Kampala Central Division) Ssebuliba Mutumba (MP Kawempe south) and Former presidential contestant Dr Abed Bwanika.
10:40 am: Demonstrators start marching towards Kampala Road.
10:45am: Police fires teargas canisters at the crowds. They split into three and take different directions.
10:50am: Crowds throw stones at policemen.
11am: Demonstrators walk towards Clock Tower grounds through Entebbe and Nasser Roads.
1200: Cars driven by Asians are targetted
12:30pm: Mob lynches an Asian man while another Asian's motocycle is burnt near Conrad Plaza.
1pm: A trailer bearing a Kenyan Registration Number KAX 662M/ZC5832 was also set ablaze at Queen's way.
1:05pm: In Katwe near Sapoba Printers, an Asian's shop is vandalised and rioters made off with all the motorcycles.
1:30pm: Demonstrators start moving towards the city centre but are blocked by the police.
Others threaten to go to Snay Bin Amir rise near Nakasero Market where many Asians are concentrated.
2:30pm: and through the entire afternoon, Police launches rescue operation to save all Asians who locked themselves and were screaming for help. Police move from shop to shop and a good number of Asians arere rescued.
