Nigeria: How Militants Launched Attack on Bayelsa Govt. House

Abuja — AS Bayelsans continue to take stock of Friday's dastardly attack on Yenagoa, more facts have emerged on how the attack was planned and executed. Sources disclosed that the so-called militants were actually sea pirates hired by a particular political group to disrupt elections not only in Bayelsa State but in the Niger Delta as a whole.

The cold calculation of this group was based on the fact that the entire South-South has in the past returned overwhelming votes for the PDP, with the tally expected to be a total sweep this time around with Dr. Goodluck Jonathan on the ticket. The agenda, therefore, was to disrupt elections in most of the region to ensure that the traditional South-South bloc votes for PDP did not count in the national vote.
