Kampala — THE diesel shortage is now biting the ordinary Ugandan. Public transport operators have hiked their fares on account of the rise in the cost of diesel to over sh2,400 from sh1,700 in the space of one month.
Transport charges from Kampala to Gulu, Kitgum, Soroti, and Kabale, for example, went up from sh15,000 to sh18,000.
