Uganda: Govt Must Investigate Allegations of Coup Plot

Kampala — The 3rd Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Information and National Guidance, on Thursday made what some may regard as sweeping, but nonetheless very serious allegations.

Mr Kirunda Kivejinja's assertion that the recent civil unrest over the PRA High Court saga, Kayiira murder report and now the save-Mabira crusade, present a pattern of events leading up to the use of unconstitutional means to bring the government, must be followed through. It is a serious enough matter when such a senior member of Cabinet comes to the public with such grave statements and this now calls for a thorough investigation.
