Nairobi — Kenya may have to amend its rules of nomination to the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) and move closer to the Tanzanian model of electing members to the regional body.
Unlike Kenya, where most of the nominees are cronies of party leaders who in most cases are incapable of winning parliamentary contests at home, Tanzania's rules are as elaborate and stringent as those for national parliamentary elections.
