Uganda: Teso Girls' Education Promoted

Kampala — UNDERPRIVILEGED girls in Teso needn't worry anymore about missing out on education thanks to a programme aimed at promoting girls' education.

The 'Go to school, back to school and stay in school' programme was launched on Wednesday at Tubur Primary School in Tubur Sub-county in Soroti District.

Officiating at the launch, the state minister for disaster preparedness, Musa Ecweru, asked Teso to embrace education as the only way to come out of poverty. The programme is sponsored by UNICEF and the Ministry of Education.
