President Museveni's remarks at the burial of former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of defence, Brig. Noble Mayombo were as candid as they were demoralising.
Demoralising because they betrayed a kind of vulnerability Ugandans are not accustomed to expecting from a Head of State. At the funeral, the president mentioned a hit squad in the Great Lakes Region out to eliminate the senior government officials. The hit squad had a hit list, on which Brig. Mayombo was and that he, the President of Uganda was on top of that list.
