Ghana: 75 Percent of Ghanaian Commercial Drivers

Tamale — FOLLOWING THE unprofessional and unacceptable manner in which some drivers operate and behave in the Tamale Metropolis and the Northern Region in general, the Deputy Regional Police Commander, ACP Daniel Julius Avorgah has challenged Transport Owners and operators to strictly employ drivers who could at least read, write and express themselves in the "Queen's English".

According to the Police Commander, this would not only bring sanity into the transport industry but also enhance the image of this country as Ghana prepares to host the CAN 2008 tournament.
