Harare — PREPARATIONS for the Culture Week Celebrations starting on May 19 at Rimuka Stadium, Kadoma, have intensified.
The theme for the celebrations running under the auspices of the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe would be "Cultural diversity for national development".
The communications and marketing manager of the council, Ms Laura Chiweshe, told New Ziana: "It is a day when countries showcase their unique cultures as part of the world heritage to be preserved for posterity," she said.
"The event allows artistes to display creativity to local communities through either live performances or displays."
The celebrations would be held throughout Zimbabwe as part of celebrations to mark the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development which falls on May 21 every year. They coincide with Africa Day celebrations. - New Ziana.
