Maputo — The Mozambican government on Tuesday announced the appointment of a former director of AIM, Ricardo Malate, as chairman of the board of directors of Radio Mozambique.
He replaces Manuel Veterano, who had been the radio's chairman for the past 16 years.
Malate began his journalism career in Radio Mozambique, and by the late 1980s had risen to become head of news and current affairs in the radio.
In 1989, he was appointed director of AIM, a post he held until 2001. His most recent post has been head of the legal department in the government press office, GABINFO.
