Benin City — The days preceding the April 14, 2007 elections in Nigeria were particularly hectic for politicians and electorates alike. Some politicians built castles in the air as they dreamt of the day they will be sworn in as governors, legislators and so on. The electorates who were so enmeshed in the heat of campaign were equally worried and prayed for the day to pass over.

In Edo state where Adams Oshiomole, a gubernatorial candidate in the Action Congress, took everybody by storm, he already concluded that he'd won the election even before the April 14 date, and so, merely positioned himself as a governor in-waiting.
