Nigeria: EFCC Freezes Govt Accounts Again

Yola — In spite of a federal high court sitting in Lagos' order defreezing accounts of the Adamawa State government about two weeks ago, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has insisted that the state government cannot operate its main and revenue accounts with Bank PHB and Oceanic Bank respectively.

The fate of workers of the boards and parastatals in the state is thus hanging in the balance, with the insistence of EFCC, which is said to have insisted that the accounts cannot be defreezed before may 29, 2007.
